Homework
Information:Most of our work will be done at school. You should expect your child to have approximately 10-15 minutes of homework each night. I try to keep homework at a minimum because I want your children to have time to play outside and exercise. Homework will consist of:1. Work that was not completed during class time 2. Practicing math facts3. Practicing spelling words4. Nightly reading/book reports
Advice:
1. Have a set schedule for your child to do homework each night. Most children like to have a set routine.
2. Have a study area for your child. The area should be well lit and free of any distractions. Paper, pencils, dictionaries, and any other items needed to complete school work should be available.
3. Be available to answer questions, but don't do it for your child.
4. Check your child's agenda and homework folder each night to make sure their homework is completed. Your child should be responsible for their own work, but by you checking it, you are staying informed and showing that you care.
